I just need to vent for a moment. I really am tired of the jealousy that drips for a majority of what is said on the anon board about Asher because it's getting ridiculous. He's annoying. Yeah, I know. That's not what I have issues with. Its seriously all this "it's unrealistic" complete and utter shit that people say constantly. What exactly is unrealistic? What exactly is so over the top that its unbearable? Here let me tell you what I was doing from age 18-20:

After I left high school, I was staying up every night until ungodly hours of day light hanging out with my friends at places like IHop doing absolutely nothing but flirting with the waiters/waitresses. Or, going gambling on the Indian Reservations (because when I turned 18 it was still allowed out there). A close friend of mine came out of the closet and we began hanging out in the gay community in Phoenix both the artsy district and the rich and expensive posh apartments getting completely trashed night after night, or singing karaoke at the gay bar. I was working to save money and blowing whole paychecks going out to California to hang out with celebrities by sneaking into movie premieres. We went to the Two Towers, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Return of the King. Ethan Hawke used my friend's cellphone at the first one and we hung out with Elijah Wood after his driver hit a pole with the limo. At the Pirates premiere, I tripped over Marc Hoppus' wife and rode the Haunted Mansion with them. I was star struck by Eric Idle and got to know David Moscow. At the ROTK, we actually got into the high overrated and expensive after party by sneaking in and I ran smack into Adrien Brody, literally and hung out with Dominic Monaghan while he DJed. My friends also got into the 2003 Oscars and I would have too if I'd gone with them instead I stayed back with some others and got trashed and pierced. I was the 2002-2004 version of a Hipster at that age and doing completely crazy shit ALL THE TIME. These things happen. All the while living in Phoenix but spending most of my time in L.A and while spending most of the rest of my time at ASU with my friends and doing research.

I'm sorry my late teen years were not filled with boring menial every day things every single moment and that my life was not moving at some monotone pace and theme. I'm a mary-sue and in all reality maybe a "cockhop" to some extent. I will go delete myself from life now. I'm sorry that I'm able to keep my character's life interesting and you can't handle it because what? You're jealous of the way they live? You never did anything extreme at that age? Your character isn't out doing crazy things or doesn't have the friends to do them with? I understand not everyone can have characters like that but listen, we do and we've had them this way from the beginning because we think of interesting things for them to do and we do try and involve others so we're not acting cliquish. It seems like anyone who doesn't simply go to class and sleep is torn apart and it's ridiculous.

Nothing Asher and Fiona do is truly that over the top. If you really think that it is and it annoys you that much, then I apologize now and you have my sympathy for not being given the opportunity to enjoy some truly fulfilling stupid/crazy/teenage experiences after high school. Because I made the best of my final underage years and it felt good to be crazy. Some people aren't like that and wouldn't want that and that's perfectly fine, but leave mine and my own alone if you just don't understand.

The trips to NY aren't really that bad. It's only an hour and a half to two hour flight. That wasn't much different for me coming to/from Phoenix to Los Angeles which I did regularly enough and I'm not rich, but I found a way to do it. The more you fly the more miles you rack up for bonus flights and it's not illogical to think that Asher's father who is a business man and does a lot of traveling or Fiona's father who is a lawyer would not be able to get discounted tickets or frequent flyer miles. Plus they're not that expensive and sorry, like it or not because there are "so many rich kids" at FY, Fiona was one of the first and her family is well off. Not ungodly rich with private jet and summer homes, but well enough off. Asher, though he hates it, takes advantage of that sometimes, like a lot of people would.

They got married which is insane because they're so young, but you know what sometimes people do at that age. When you do marry, and I'm speaking from experience because I have been/was married for almost 4 years now, you want to spend a hell of a lot of time together. And the truth is Asher and Fiona are never on campus, so unless you're actually in a storyline don't go assuming crap about it. They don't really live on campus, they just try to give off the impression that they do. Because they know if Fiona's caught in his room all of the time, then they might be in trouble EVEN THOUGH they're married and legally allowed to be around each other. In all honesty, and we're aware of this, they would've been asked to move to family housing or off campus. We've had to make do with the rules of the game and we have. They don't sleep much at night and spend time elsewhere doing their homework or various things, they spend a lot of time at his cousin's house and practically live there. They use the dorm rooms as their physical address like a lot of people I knew did. A close friend of mine was living in the honors dorms at ASU her first semester but she stayed maybe a week there at the most because she basically lived with her boyfriend and used the school as an address since it was required for her to live on campus. Another friend of mine snuck her boyfriend in all the time until it pissed off her room mate and then she did the same thing, she used the dorm as her address and lived with him. I knew a lot of people who stayed in their friends dorms a lot more than their own or had other people staying in their on a regular basis more than most or any RAs allowed. And yes they are married~ and that's a huge part of why she's always around him and why they're fighting a lot, but until you're actually married and know what it's like to be in that position and to have those insane feelings, don't start talking about what is and isn't unrealistic about fights and early marital problems, because crazy enough, that piece of paper really does change the dynamics of a relationship if done at the wrong time and I've seen it happen not only to myself but every single person in my life that has gotten married at a young age.

When they are in the rooms on campus, it's usually during the day when they sleep. Except Weds, Asher gets out of class at 11 and he has one extra class on Tues and Thurs. So he sleeps during the day and focuses on his work at night. He has always given his room mates the room to themselves when they've wanted it. He, Jackson and Fiona have joked about the sex, but in all reality, he wouldn't truly make a person he was living with deal with that on a basis that everyone assumes they do it. Someone on the anon board shared their experience with someone else living in their room but that was their experience, not Asher and Fiona.

Quit trying to fill in the blanks of a storyline that isn't yours and making crap up about it. If you want to know what's really going on in an SL, then get your character involved otherwise sit down and focus on yours instead of spending all that time complaining about people who are having fun in their SLs. I'm not going to make my character boring with no life and average just to appease uncreative bitter anons when he wasn't written that way and accepted into the game and for months for the way he is. If they annoy you that much, quit investing your energy into reading what they write and bashing them. JFC. I'm tired of it.

sociopathic Oh, Julian. I have a confession; I'd never written HP before Ashes. Ever. It was such a total whim that took me on a rollercoaster I could have never anticipated. I didn't think much of OCs, to be honest, and I was probably one of the mods who was wariest about your app. I was just so straight-line canon-obsessed that I wasn't really open to the notion of OCs. But your writing sample was good, so I gave my thumbs up, and I am so, so glad I did. I don't know if I've ever said it in these terms, but: he is the most well-developed OC I've ever had the pleasure of writing against. Period. No OC I've ever played against in HP or PB has surpassed him, and I don't expect that they ever will. Thank you for exploring the depths of madness where no one else would. Thank you for taking all the drama of their story as it came and never taking it personally. Thank you for doing more to define my character than anyone else. Whatever character depth I achieved, I owe to you, because you WENT there with me. I know it came to an unfortunate end, but the opportunity to revive it, even only for a few months, was magical to me. I'm sincerely sorry that my interest in the fandom waned. I hope, someday, that I'll get that muse back again, because no one goes darker than you.

Headcount! How many of you are doing NANO this year? Are we friends on there yet?

I don't really see us starting at Midnight. We're going to the bar and possibly (depending on the level of trashed we are when we leave the bar) going to a Halloween party. In fact, I don't see myself being able to sit down and actually work on NANO until sometime in the afternoon on the 1st, but we'll see.

EITHER WAY, I'm determined to win this year since I slacked off at about 13,500 words last year.

I'm also trying to get through Lolita since a certain muse of mine keeps raving about it and I haven't read it in about ten years or so. So, I don't know exactly how active I'll be on the rp front. I never try to assume. We shall see.

Hm. I would like to make a some clarification. I'm not commenting anonymously because I have nothing to hide.

Not all of us create a character with the intent to be loved and popular. In fact, I prefer playing the ones people IC wouldn't like and I've done that for years now.

Asher was never written to be popular. He was written to be as annoying as he is. He's a drama nerd and I mean really, LOOK at his pb. Asher was based off several people I went to high school with and being only 19, he like most people that age, still have a certain mentality that doesn't stretch very beyond high school. He's hyperactive. It's annoying. If he really annoys you that much, then I guess he's done his job at being himself. Thank you.

He's taken 3 trips since the game started. 1 was an overnight trip to Connecticut with another character to go to a concert. The round trip at the time cost about $320 and he didn't miss any class. He drove with Mori and Fiona to Florida (where I might add, the teams have had games so it isn't that unrealistic) and missed his Friday class, but was back in time for school on Sunday. And now, when he went during Fall Break (which a lot of you in game haven't paid attention to school schedule at all because you've had your kids going to class during the fall break. Not that hard to check the school website) to visit his family in Vegas and he'll be missing class for 2 more days. In total he'll have missed his MWF class 3 times and his TTH class 2 times. As for the money for the wedding. They didn't spend more than $1,200 in total on it. They split the bill. Every major expense has been researched and thought out.

He's not spending an outrageous amount of money he doesn't have. And for the masquerade, Fiona's father has money he's loaned them. I'm not saying it was the wisest way to spend money, but he's 19. He doesn't care about being money savvy at 19. It's not his personality. He's not making wise decisions because he's still a kid. He jumps before he thinks. He makes random choices. He's got issues cause everyone has issues at this age. He's dramatic because he's a drama major. IDK how things are at UNC because I never went, but the drama department at ASU was insane. I spent a majority of my time after high school around them and Asher's mild compared to some of those personalities.

The cow thing. I posted in the ooc comm about it and was up for Asher taking any sort of fall for it, no matter the consequences. Crazy shit happens at colleges. And, for the record, cows can get upstairs not down, and it would've been cool if they had been stopped. I was up for whatever happened in that circumstance.

Homosexuality was an issue all of my friends had to deal with and learn about themselves, whether they were gay or not. College was when they began to come out of the closet. It happens that way for some people because in college you're really beginning to figure yourself out and you're more free to express yourself. Asher's trying to figure that out for himself at the moment. Should he have jumped into marriage? No, not at all. He's dealing with the consequences of it. He made a stupid decision. It happens. I don't know how to play characters that are perfect at everything and make all of the right choices. That'd be boring.

If you don't like him, tough shit. I do my research and put thought into my characters. I play off of what is given to me. And for the record, I've only rped out ONE sex scene with him and it wasn't even for ~firstyear nor with Fiona-s. Fiona-s and I aren't in it for the smut. I actually enjoy character development and writing to write. Maybe if you actually took the time to write with him, you'd learn there's more depth to him than his hyper activeness on the friends page.

I feel like it's way too early for me to be up, yet it isn't. Job hunting again today. I need a job. I want a job. I just absolutely despise filling out these applications. My handwriting sucks and about half way through a pile of them my hand hurts so I don't want to be bothered with them. Can't I just walk in somewhere and be like "HIRE ME!" and give maybe a verbal application?

I met a handful of Emma's coworkers last night and it still completely sucks to me that I didn't get that job. I will never understand why since I'm overly qualified and I showed major interest in wanting to work there. I'm like a dream employee for a bookstore. She's certain they simply lost my application, since even the interview went really well. kjklj

I need to write stuff up for Tevin and Asher. Might as well since it's early. I still have sharpie all over me. At least it's only marks and I haven't been labeled someone's dirty little pixie.

I thought I had more to say, but it's only just after 8:30am on my body's biological clock. Coherency isn't a strong point at the moment.

ETA Oh yeah, with NANO coming up. I apologize in advance for those of you who have my writing journal added. By now most should be aware of how paranoid I get about leaving my work on my computer only to have it eaten by technology. We got there really early before anything started and like 20 minutes before they let us in this guy came around passing out Ok Go buttons, some person in line was like "heh, you have to pass out other people's shit, cause no one likes your band." So I felt bad and i took a big handful of the buttons and gave some to Tori and Heather. The guy smiled at me as I took the handful, then a few minutes later he came back around again, and he was like "I already know you got some, but do you have both?" and then he made sure we had equal amounts of both kind, so we'd be even and have enough of both. Which was really sweet. Come to find out, and i didn't find this out till they got on stage to set up, that he's actually the lead singer of Ok Go, Damian Kulash. So I chatted with him for a bit about his broken foot. And i chatted with the bassist about his guitar. Heather and i became the bassist water whench and made sure his water was in reach when he needed it and they did a skit from Les Miserables, and i thought they were done and i was like Bravo!! then Damian's like "WE'RE NOT FINISHED YET!!!!!" and then smiled at me. The crowd was like dead. Heather and i were the only ones really getting into it. And afterwards i went up to him and asked him to sign my ticket, in exchange i gave him my email for their mailing list. Damian was so cute he's like "look! i even have a sharpie to sign it with!" And then i got the bassist, Tim, to sign my ticket as well. Didn't worry about the others in the band, didn't know who they were, nor had I spoken with them. We were gonna leave after they played "Get over It" but it was the last song on the list. I'm glad too cause I like their music and they did the best cover of "Crimson and Clover" I've ever heard.

Yeah, there were other bands. Fourbanger was pretty good. Digital's lead singer, Chris, was real cute. We may go see them again Dec. 14th. They remind me of Linkin Park, which is weird cause I'm pretty sure Chester's from here. And Trapt was really good too. I'll post the ride home in the morning. I'm still in my own little world right now. Damian was so sweet.

on an un-related note: I've got cool pants.

(AWWWW DAMIAN. he was so sweet too. This just REALLY amuses me since no one knew who the hell OK GO were at the time, us either outside of "Get Over It".)
